There is an over-usage of the word genozide. It gets devaluated. One ca useatrocities, war crimes, cirme agans humantiy, attacks against ethnical population and so forth.

Even if they hate Russians, Ukraine has no plan to eradicate all Russians.

Tony Leibbrandt's avatar

I agree about over usage of the term, and its definition has become far too 'loose'. However, the plan was not to eradicate all Russians but all ethnically Russian Ukrainians.

Not new rather old but the Brasilian-Argentine-Uruguayan war against PARAGUAY

in the XIX century left Paraguay with one man ever seven women, in the nineteen sixty it hadn't reversed yet, imagine what will happen in Ukraine in the near future

more so if they even send women to war. You are right about subhumanity of other nationalities, in this case, Poles, Hungarians, Romanians, and half or more of

their country RUSSIANS. Insane

It’s actually more than that. Russia still exports fertilizers, agricultural products, natural gas, oil, uranium, tons of natural resources to every single country in Europe, especially Germany !

Yes, for which Putin should be tried for treason and publicly shot.

Because that is exactly what this is -- absolute scandal and grand treason.

Even more scandalous was his response the one time he was confronted about it, which was at Valdai in 2023 -- he was asked "Why do we supply with natural resources the same people who are bombing us?" and he said "Because we get money for it". He didn't elaborate on who he meant by "we"

It is better to have the EU financing the SMO against Ukraine than Russia....

Abe's avatar

In case you are not aware, Russia is not at war with Europe. Russia is still conducting an SMO in Ukraine. Russia still needed and needs the funds right now. Funds coming in from Europe is better than no funds. Remember Russia is still the most heavily sanctioned country in history.

You are just a western fluffer, spewing manure. You have the same desire like air head Kallas, and three bootlickers Macron, Merz and Starmer to overthrow Putin and have the west divide and exploit Russia from her resources.

Exactly: Ukraine excluding Crimea and the regions under Russian control is now about 20M people and mostly old people.

All young people who could leave have left, over a million young men are either dead or badly injured and several million people felt the country those last three years.

There is also a strong correlation between electrical usage & size of an economy.

Presently? Discounting the insane usage for data centers, which so far are a net drain on the (real, physical stuff related) economy? US electrical usage is shrinking at an accelerating rate.

PFC Billy's avatar

All of these are interesting statistics- But?

If you provided attribution and links to your data sources, it would be more useful.

Simply speaking, Brits are the wicked brain (Intelligence services/spy networks - colonial legacy) and the slush fund, and the U.S. is the brawn of the Global (Imperialist) Oligarchy. "Five eyes" and "Trilateral Commission".

himmelhund's avatar

Good luck getting the people here to understand that.

I have preached the subject till I was turning blue.

People simply can't grasp the concept that the Empire still exists, it has just rebranded itself as a Commonwealth - 56 members in the General Assembly and 15 of them see FucKing Chuck as their Head of State

it's OK to not be aware of this, but when somebody points it out, and one can't understand / accept it, they have a problem with stupidity or deliberate ignorance

PFC Billy's avatar

It is past time for the British to help Chuck III emulate the career of Chuck I.

It would be a kindness to send him where all his beloved mentors and closest friends have gone- Lord Mountbatten of Orphanrape, Sir James Saville of Boynecrophilia & etc..

bemused's avatar

Or they simply have a different point of view. The fact that you believe it doesn't make it true, or that those who hold other opinions are either stupid or ignorant. "There is some nut on the freeway driving the wrong way." "Some nut? There are hundreds of them!"

Peter Joy's avatar

Tell that to South Africa, India and a host of others. They don’t even take orders from Washington, let alone the Little Satan. The Commonwealth is a cardboard charade, a ceremonial pretence, almost meaningless. The brown and black-skinned states that are notional members are in it only for the free ‘aid’ and six-star junkets.

Being the brains directing America's brawn - the ‘Special Relationship’ - is the abiding UK Deep State fantasy, but it is a delusion, an increasingly sad and threadbare delusion.

Which is not to say that the UK spooks and 'think tanks’ (faux academic war lobbyists) aren’t deeply woven in with the Neocon project. They are. We have a MICIMATT (Military-Industrial-Congressional-Media-Academic-Think-Tank) Complex that parallels that of the US and, particularly with the Media and Think Tanks, is essentially merged within it. I’d recommend the book Think Tank Racket by Glenn Diesen: his exposes of the business model, incentives, conflicts of interests, shameless corruption and lies and bullshit peddled by the Think Tanks is quite jaw dropping, though it does explain the ability of so-called experts to carry on filling the papers with delusional nonsense on a level that would embarrass Iraq’s Comical Ali.

I remember Germany whe we still had steam locomotives runnig in the sxties and seventies in large amouts. I liked them. And we have still some runnig at historical events and special line on a regular base

CHUCKY's avatar

I like them, too. But this is 2025, not the 60s or 70s. And this train was pulling what looks like passenger cars. It's completely ridiculous.

Charles Langlois's avatar

It's probably a seasonal steam special, like they also have in Russia, the UK and possibly many other north European countries. Sorry to be disappointing. Operating steam locomotives on a regular basis takes a lot of infrastructure that no longer exists in Europe, except on preserved lines.

JohnT's avatar

You need coal, water, and people that understand how to operate those machines. I don't think the track is any different today, maybe not as robust. But the US switched from steam to diesel in the early 50's?

I worked on diesel electric locomotives in the early 70's.

Charles Langlois's avatar

It's the missing watering facilities that most militate against regular operation. The loco in this video was only built in 1951.

Trumpeter's avatar

Chucky, calm down. Your'e starting to sound just like your mother.

The steam locomotive looked like it was functioning well. Ridiculous would be not using a good tool because it is outdated, and going without because someone might laugh at you.

CHUCKY's avatar

You obviously don’t understand why an antiquated steam locomotive pulling modern passenger cars looks ridiculous. Watch the video and try again.

bemused's avatar

I suspect they don't care that you think it looks ridiculous.

Charles Langlois's avatar

To be contemporary with the loco, those coaches would only have to be about 50 years old and there's nothing about them that says they aren't.

Mark Chapman's avatar

China used them for years as well, was still running them in Tsing Tao as recently as 1988. Probably because China has large reserves of coal, and sees little reason to not use it.

tonyE's avatar
Dec 8Edited

Not necessarily.

The last generation of steam locomotives used heavy oil and the boiler was fed by a pump from a an oil tank tender.

The main issue with steam locomotives is that they require a lot of maintenance... lots of lubrication, etc...

CHUCKY's avatar

Charles Langlois's avatar

1891? You don't know much about railways or steam locomotives; that loco was only built in 1951, so easily could still have been in service in 1991.

CHUCKY's avatar

1891? You don’t know much about satire or comedy; go back to special ed class.

Charles Langlois's avatar

Neither do you. Hint: comedy is meant to be funny and satire is not what you evidently think it is.

CHUCKY's avatar

It was funny. 16 people so far liked my comment and appreciate the humor . You, being autistic and lacking the ability to detect humor, are unable to see the humor in my comment because autistic people take everything literally and lack social skills.

‼️‼️The latest reports from Kupiansk. Footage has emerged of the clearance of the city center by Ukrainian Armed Forces assault units and the surrender of the "orcs" into captivity. It seems that the Russians, realizing the hopelessness of their situation, decided to surrender to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in exchange for food. Most of the city is again under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but due to the lack of information, it is impossible to determine the exact line of the contact line at the moment

Ukrainian-Russian war. Day 1381:

Situation on northeastern front: During the last three days, Ukrainian army continued to regain territory west of Kupiansk, taking advantage of the porous front line to reach Kharkivska Street and along Lermontova Street. Operations expanded further, reaching the Kupyansk-Yuzhny railway station (where Ukrainian troops later withdrew).

GM's avatar

The reality of the SMO is that despite all the talk of ongoing Ukrainian collapse, Russia did not take more land in November 2025 than it did in November 2024. And even the advance around Gulyaipole, where most gains came from, has slowed down without it accelerating elsewhere.

Meanwhile Putin has still not mobilized properly for war and there are still no signs of anything being done about Chernigov and Sumy, and eventually Kiev, let alone Odessa.
