Even if the West goes through a depression, they will always be able to provide weapons to Ukraine. Currently huge majorities in the West would rather not fund wars but the elite do it anyway. The idea that the people will use democracy to stop these wars is naive.
And NATO is slowly but surely ramping up military production and they have many more potential troops.
Russia has a window now to take advantage and waiting has a lot more downside than mobilization and increased war production does. For one, getting to the Romanian and Polish borders quickly will put them in a better defensive position vis a vis a broader war with NATO.

1) Syria had an independent deterrent against Israel -- its chemical weapons arsenal. Putin literally played the good cop in a classic good cop/bad cope scheme to deprive them of it. For which he was praised as some kind of genius, with nobody willing to see what actually happened
2) When Medvedev was in power in 2011-12, Syria was actually supplied with weapons, as needed and according to contracts. Putin became president again in 2012 and much of that stopped, right in those critical for Assad years. This contributed to the situation becoming so catastrophic a few years later. Only then did Russia enter, and it is not clear who decided it -- Putin himself, or the General Staff forced his hand. Regardless, it was all for nothing, because:
3) Once Syria's independent deterrent was neutralized, Israel began a low-level, but persistent and long-term strategic bombing campaign. Which Russia was supposed to stop, but for a decade Russian air defense was turned off when Israel bombed Syria at will, at least once a week. This greatly contributed to the hollowing out and demoralization of the Syrian state.
4) The other major contributor was that neither Russia nor Iran helped much with breaking the sanctions. They could have done a lot, but they didn't.
5) Russia also didn't help at all with expelling the Americans from the east of the country. Not even after the Americans started a direct war with Russia on Russia's home soil.
6) The worst part -- Idlib was actually surrounded and ready to be finished off by the combined forces of the Syrian army, Hezbollah, Wagner and the Russian air force. And then the order came to halt. The same kind of order that had come from the Kremlin a couple years prior when Mariupol was abandoned by the Ukronazis and the DNR forces were ready to take it. But with even more catastrophic consequences in this case. So instead of excising the tumor when the opportunity to do so was there, we got Astana and Idlib as a safe heaven for the "moderate" jihadist, with a direct link to Turkey, through which tens of thousands of them were pumped in and armed to the teeth.

Israel also didn’t have to fear losing face by having its jets shot down and vice versa for Russias AD systems. Israel got to hit proxies like Hezzbolah but stayed away from critical infrastructure.
4) The only way it seemed to get rid of US troops would have been to directly bomb them and risk a war with the US.

The "current European security architecture" is shit, firstly because they are armed and prepared to fight yesterday's wars, secondly because they have dismantled ammunition production to the extent that they cannot sustain more than a week or two of conflict, and thirdly because they cannot mobilize quickly and lack the infrastructure for quick response.
But they are starting, slowly and awkwardly, to throw money at these very problems. If Putin keeps up the slo-mo attrition war, then the grinding down of Ukraine will buy Europe the time to fix its military. And then it will get much, much harder to stand up to NATO.
1) Issue an ultimatum to Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania to shut the borders down, or they will be considered to have declared war on Russia.
Hungary and Slovakia will likely gladly comply, no issues there. Romania and Poland will not.
2) Nuke the border crossings on the Ukrainian side. Use bunker buster Kinzhals with 50-75 kt warheads that will burrow deep (and soil there is soft and thick, which is good, they will penetrate as intended). Target the railways and the roads outside populated places, explode the nukes underground. This will kill almost nobody but it will make some very serious craters, such as these:
And it will completely block transport. There are less than 25 such border crossings to disable. There will be no roads and railways and that area will be too radioactive to go in for quite a while. They will have to start building large detours of several kilometers to reestablish transport connections, which will take months, and, of course, you then hit those again.
3) If Poland, Romania and NATO in general still insist on feeling brave and then start flooding in weapons through various off-road means, you then nuke (to complete zero) Poland and Romania (they will have received ample warning by that point so will deserve every single kiloton they get coming their way).

I've been watching Macgregor since late 2022 and yes many times he did say Ukraine was not far from collapse. Since early 2024 I have heard him say many times he was wrong about how he thought the Russians and he would have prosecuted the SMO. Other than our man SImplicius, I haven't found a better analyst. Macgregor was the first (as far as I am aware) who was giving valid casualty and KIA figures. I have not seen the entire speech, but apparently Putin recently told the Russian people that their "people power" would soon bring an end to the SMO. Aside from the support for decarbonisaton of the world (CO2 not being a major factor in climate change), I basically, like BRICS, support all those efforts and organisations - the caveat being that they all need major reform to work properly, not under a unilateral "rules-based" order, but under multi-lateral cooperation among equal nations. What BRICS is after, generally speaking as I understand it, is upholding the spirit of these whilst re-engineering the implementation of them on a multi-polar basis.
In other words, what is needed is the implementation of a new paradigm through which these organisations and agreements would function.

In case of a 30% effort on the part of China Wang’s prediction would have been true. Chinese industrial output is simply enormous. I noticed that from the very beginning of the SMO, in the translations in videos. Russian soldiers don’t fight, they work. I was struck by that and thought that the west was fighting something that was big and had a lot of weight to it. The soldiers get interviewed on camera at when they get asked to finish with some words to their family, they say things like “mum, dad, don’t worry about me, we are working here”. It just reflects a rational, no nonsense approach to the realities of warfare, it’s total faith in creating the right circumstances and waiting for the fruit. Faith. That’s what we in the west don’t have. Faith in the way of things. 2) When Medvedev was in power in 2011-12, Syria was actually supplied with weapons, as needed and according to contracts. Only then did Russia enter, and it is not clear who decided it -- Putin himself, or the General Staff forced his hand. Regardless, it was all for nothing, because:
3) Once Syria's independent deterrent was neutralized, Israel began a low-level, but persistent and long-term strategic bombing campaign. Which Russia was supposed to stop, but for a decade Russian air defense was turned off when Israel bombed Syria at will, at least once a week. This greatly contributed to the hollowing out and demoralization of the Syrian state.
4) The other major contributor was that neither Russia nor Iran helped much with breaking the sanctions. They could have done a lot, but they didn't.
5) Russia also didn't help at all with expelling the Americans from the east of the country. Not even after the Americans started a direct war with Russia on Russia's home soil.
6) The worst part -- Idlib was actually surrounded and ready to be finished off by the combined forces of the Syrian army, Hezbollah, Wagner and the Russian air force. And then the order came to halt. The same kind of order that had come from the Kremlin a couple years prior when Mariupol was abandoned by the Ukronazis and the DNR forces were ready to take it. But with even more catastrophic consequences in this case. I contend that Russia currently has the ability to defeat Ukraine almost as quickly as Iraq's defeat in Operation Desert Storm. (Hold my beer, I'll get back to this) With no end in sight, the Ukraine conflict drags on and on with mounting casualties because Russia chooses a path of attrition to infinity and tiny scale advancements instead of making a decisive blow to neutralize Ukraine's ability to fight. This keeps Ukraine in the game, putting up solid resistance despite an approximately disadvantaged attrition loss of 1 to 3. Russia has been winning for years but it has yet to win. Right? Why play the long attrition game when Russia can neutralize Ukraine by conducting a large-scale breakthrough, surround Kiev and set new lines north and south of it. Enemy drones wouldn't be the same threat that they were because their AFU operators would be overrun and hunted down. The hunter becomes prey. So Russia controls the air with drone supremacy and its air force. The element of surprise would catch an unsuspecting Ukraine off guard because, up to the time of the attack, Russia had only conducted small-scale moves. Russia then sets a decoy as if to attack Odessa or elsewhere, but the main attack is to surround Kyiv, backed by new defensive lines north and south of it. Kyiv is the snakehead to all the moving parts. Without it, Ukraine would be defeated.
SUV's and cars could be repurposed as mechanized troop transport and fighting vehicles in the thousands. Take the trunk out where one man sits with shotgun to take out drones. The "current European security architecture" is shit, firstly because they are armed and prepared to fight yesterday's wars, secondly because they have dismantled ammunition production to the extent that they cannot sustain more than a week or two of conflict, and thirdly because they cannot mobilize quickly and lack the infrastructure for quick response.
But they are starting, slowly and awkwardly, to throw money at these very problems. If Putin keeps up the slo-mo attrition war, then the grinding down of Ukraine will buy Europe the time to fix its military. And then it will get much, much harder to stand up to NATO.
You need to isolate the battlefield first.
So the primary objective must be cutting Ukraine off from NATO, physically.
In what manner?
You execute the following sequence:
1) Issue an ultimatum to Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania to shut the borders down, or they will be considered to have declared war on Russia.
Hungary and Slovakia will likely gladly comply, no issues there. Romania and Poland will not.
2) Nuke the border crossings on the Ukrainian side. Use bunker buster Kinzhals with 50-75 kt warheads that will burrow deep (and soil there is soft and thick, which is good, they will penetrate as intended). Target the railways and the roads outside populated places, explode the nukes underground. This will kill almost nobody but it will make some very serious craters, such as these:

3) If Poland, Romania and NATO in general still insist on feeling brave and then start flooding in weapons through various off-road means, you then nuke (to complete zero) Poland and Romania (they will have received ample warning by that point so will deserve every single kiloton they get coming their way).

I've been watching Macgregor since late 2022 and yes many times he did say Ukraine was not far from collapse. Since early 2024 I have heard him say many times he was wrong about how he thought the Russians and he would have prosecuted the SMO. Other than our man SImplicius, I haven't found a better analyst. Aside from the support for decarbonisaton of the world (CO2 not being a major factor in climate change), I basically, like BRICS, support all those efforts and organisations - the caveat being that they all need major reform to work properly, not under a unilateral "rules-based" order, but under multi-lateral cooperation among equal nations. What BRICS is after, generally speaking as I understand it, is upholding the spirit of these whilst re-engineering the implementation of them on a multi-polar basis.
In other words, what is needed is the implementation of a new paradigm through which these organisations and agreements would function.

In case of a 30% effort on the part of China Wang’s prediction would have been true. Chinese industrial output is simply enormous. It is a different question if a serious input from China would be a smart move right now. The US would just evaluate the new situation as a good one to go in full weight with weapon deliveries and fight and learn about Chinese weapon systems in Ukraine. I was struck by that and thought that the west was fighting something that was big and had a lot of weight to it. The soldiers get interviewed on camera at when they get asked to finish with some words to their family, they say things like “mum, dad, don’t worry about me, we are working here”. It just reflects a rational, no nonsense approach to the realities of warfare, it’s total faith in creating the right circumstances and waiting for the fruit. Faith. That’s what we in the west don’t have. Faith in the way of things. Am I right in thinking also that when Russians see something is not working they pull out much earlier than the US, like in Afghanistan in the 80s? They cut their loses, they’re readier to accept defeat in order to minimise it?
