Hello, all. It’s that time again. There’s been a rash of new subscribers since the last time we’ve done this, so as a quick reminder, this mailbag section is a once every week or two (depending on interest) reader’s mailbag for paid subscribers to get a chance to ask more in depth questions, which I answer in longer form than might be typical for the comments section replies.
As always, I value the free subscribers as well, but this is just a little perk to the paid subscribers who are essential to my work. Free subscribers can still view the questions and ensuing responses which will come likely by this weekend after I let the questions pile up for a few days.
As paid subscribers rack up, I plan to have more special perks or paid-subscriber-only services in the future as a way to treat them, but I intend to keep the main Sitreps, articles, etc., free as always. I’ll just have to think of something to offer that can be unique for paid subs, without being absolutely critical info that should be available to all. Ideas are welcome! Personally, it drives me up the wall when other Substack writers put their main articles behind a paywall, particularly one you’re halfway through reading until you realize you have to pay to unlock the rest.
Also, as a last note for new subscribers or anyone that doesn’t know: I also have a second publication/newsletter over at:
It’s actually under this same account name so you can access it by simply clicking on my name and it should give a choice between the two. Dark Futura deals more with societal, social, cultural, tech, futurism issues and long form rants, and I mention it because I have a new article set to drop there hopefully later today, so be sure to subscribe if you’re interested in that as—even though they’re under the same account—Substack makes it where you still have to subscribe separately to that one.
With that said, let’s hear your questions for this week!
Have heard that the Depleted Uranium explosion's fallout cloud blew over to Poland. Talk about a miss-direction oops! Anyways, what do you know, and as always, truly marvel at your depth of knowledge & quality of work. Cheers!
You may have addressed this but a definitive / informed view on the potential impact of depleted uranium rounds being blown up by the Russian strike on a storage depot would be good.
I have seen comments that are all over the place with respect to whether this will have generated radiation, plus long term risks to crops, public health and so forth. The Russians are obviously claiming that it will have done, it seems. It suits their vilification of the UK for supplying the things! The western side has on the other hand every incentive to play these risks down. But I am not sure what the truth is. Realise that this is likely a super tricky topic to address too, with unclear science.
Thanks. Great blog. You very much deserve the increase in paid subscribers.
