I agree and, as a German, I am ashamed of the image we project to the world. However, I believe that less than a third of my fellow citizens contribute to this. Unfortunately, it is the loudmouths and those who (still) largely determine the political and economic course here.

Stjopa.

You don't have to apologise for your government mate.

None of us lives in a true democracy.

Robert's avatar

Reminds me of the Faulty Towers episode where German guests arrive and Basil keeps telling everyone "don't mention the war". A clear reference to England's inability to move on from WW2. The EU is stuck in their colonial period, being dominating masters of the world. The wasted funds keeping up the pretense would be better spent on domestic problems.

RalfB's avatar

Germans will not, of course, put their own grunts on the battlefield. They have a well-conditioned guard dog that they will sic on Russia: Poland. Poles, actually victimized by Germany, have been continuously and effectively brainwashed, over decades, to hate Russians instead. They are barking and straining at the leash---why should Germany exert itself, when fresh Slavs are available?

The next stage of 3 WW is coming at the end of this year.

No matter what are Iran-USA diplomatic talks, Iran will be nuked, by hands of Israel. Bushehr nuclear power plant will be dirty bombed, it will explode, with 72 tons of active material loaded in reactors and 200 tons spend fuel stored on site. Americans will use flesh rotting chemical weapons, gas bombs on civilians - all not reported and later under-reported by the Western mass media. Death in tens millions, hell in hell. Mass migration in ten/hundred millions from the Middle East, out of total 500 mln population.

Israel enters into Great Israel stage, the map Natanyahu shown at UN plenary session on 22 September 2023. And beyond those borders. With false Messiah pointed by them, just to get all those mad evangelical Christians in the USA and everywhere else, who are all Zionists, on their side.

If Trump doesn’t follow, he will be poisoned. His son Barron becoming interim president.

Pivotal in this war will be a new player, but not a superpower, Turkiye. It will leave NATO and associate with Russia and Pakistan for nuclear umbrella.

Russia and/or Pakistan will nuke Israel, to prevent them from using remaining bombs on Turkiye and elsewhere.

There would be immediately hot front on NATO East border. Six countries will be at active war. Large American armaments will be coming, they will send all they have, and they still have a lot - bar nukes. Zaporozhe nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, will be once again bombed, but this time at critical danger level. All borders in Europe shut and with full military mobilisation, to prevent mass migration from Ukrainian and Middle East humanitarian disaster and stop deserters, conscripts from war countries.

It will be a very fast paced war, with many war theatres around the glob, will end

Chine will try to stay away as far as possible. To prevent nuclear war they will use biological weapon, highly deadly pandemic, with not known medicines to cure. All active fronts and any military activity will cease. Putin single-handedly stopped Covid, which was just socio-engineering, by war on Banderites, Xi will stop nuclear war with ensuring nuclear winter, by real mass death. That will save humanity for 1-2 generations, when the 4 WW will annihilate 99% of us.

Herman's avatar

Circling back to what Ratcliffe said about the survival rate of Russian soldiers on the front line: I'm not good at math, but if every Russian soldier on the frontline can only survive for half an hour, then that means that the entire Russian army on the frontline can only survive for half an hour... Right? Conclusion: the entire Russian army on the frontline in Ukraine needs to be replaced every thirty minutes...

???

abcdefg's avatar

As I said yesterday, a childish argument from the CIA director. Emblematic of the our post truth milieu.

TJE's avatar
Sep 2Edited

Ratcliffe DIDN'T go to Russia to SAY THAT. It was a BULLSHIT REPORT.

grr's avatar

LOL there is a video of him saying exactly that.

Herman's avatar

Indeed, in Simplicius' previous piece.

TJE's avatar

again...RATFUCK DID NOT GO TO RF TO TELL THE RUSSIANS THAT

it was NOT the reason for his visit.

grr's avatar

Sneaky and dishonest. You have edited the lie you uttered (we can see the notification, stating Edited)

You said he didn't say that. You were corrected and went back and edited your misinformation to state he didn't say it in Russia.

Mister Shouty Caps the ignoramus has been busted!

TJE's avatar

IDGAF honestly what Ratfuck said to the media- i was continuing on the ORIGINAL report regarding what was said in Moscow

I noted that you idiots were confused and was simply trying to hep you out

Herman's avatar

Ok, I understand. He said it (in the video) but that wasn't the reason of his visit to Moscow.

Victor's avatar

Actually, we don't know the reason for his visit to Moscow.

We don't know what he said. We don't know what he didn't say.

thatguy's avatar

Agreed. It was just cover-story slop, stated on television for the public to lap up. Why would anyone think that CIA officials have suddenly decided to tell the whole truth to the public about anything? The idea that Rat went to Russia to inform the Russians of their own loss rates on the battlefields isn't credible in the least. It's propaganda and media slop.

abcdefg's avatar

Changing your comments when called out my friend. You need to find your place in the world. Perhaps here isn't it. Try Reddit.

TJE's avatar

Steghorn21's avatar

Chris Collier's avatar

Indeed.

He went all the way over their to warn President Putin that he wasn't getting good intelligence from the battle fronts. And he apparently ended up telling this to the people that are responsible for getting intelligence to President Putin.

"Yes, please tell President Putin that he shouldn't trust you..."

Sure thing.

Herman's avatar

It's a bit like going to the devil to confess.

Mikey Johnson's avatar

Read the Telegram-guys text thoughtfully instead of doing bad math. You can also look up my comment on that matter.

Herman's avatar

I was referring to what Ratcliffe said in the video in Simplicius' previous piece.

Mikey Johnson's avatar

Ok, then. Yes, what Ratcliff says in public is ballony - nothing to delve on at all or trying to do math.

abcdefg's avatar

I read you comments yesterday. Did you watch the speech Ratcliffe gave? Your points were tangential, stick to the point.

thatguy's avatar

A CIA director gave a public speech on TV. The CIA has been known to lie to the public about things in the past for propaganda purposes. They have bragged about it. Hard to undertand why so many people who are otherwise highly skeptical of US govt official statements suddenly believe that this time it is the full truth.

Victor's avatar

Likely because people usually believe what they want to believe.

Mikey Johnson's avatar

…or are trolling.

MaryJane's avatar

I did not even bother to watch it and will not. I know it's BS

Tim's avatar

If you read what I think he actually said, it was that Russian assault troops could only last for that long; so as Russia doesn't tend to do mass assaults, then the statement becomes effectively meaningless.

Now there's a surprise.

Peter Williamson's avatar

Life expectancy of Maxim machine gunner WW1 was 15 minutes but still it continued and Britain did suffer 20,000 KIA on 1 July 1916 alone - try beat that USA. That was the end of the volunteer army.

Americans have no endurance and Ratcliffe is a lawyer politician with no real world experience

pepa65's avatar

No, he was just recalculating a statistical figure. Say that they lose 18,000 a year, that means 49 a day, and 2 every hour. So they can say that they lose a mean every half hour, that's all. (Not commenting on the actual figures, or what was really said..!)

Herman's avatar

That's not what he said. I quote Simplicius:

<The claim was amplified by CIA Director Ratcliffe who said their intelligence is consistent with “some” open-source reporting: “The average life expectancy of a Russian recruit right now, arriving on the battlefield in Ukraine, is estimated to be between 20 and 30 minutes.”>

Average life expectancy = between 20 and 30 minutes. That's not the same as losing a man every half hour.

The Spectre's avatar

Empty threats, when losing war, is a pointless exercise. Nobody sane would reveal military plans, only to divert attention.

Within 10 days there would be a wave of terrorist attacks against civilian infrastructure in Russia, metro underground transport systems in Moscow, Petersburg. That to shape outcome of general elections on 18-20.09 against Putin's party.

Do remember Krokus City Hall terrorist attack one week after presidential elections. Americans knew about this plan and warned its citizens

Comrade Napoleon's avatar

You mean terrorist plans?

The Spectre's avatar

They are just empty threats. But certainly they would put Zelensky at Nuremberg 2 hanging, if he saves his life that long.

Russia might have a reason to call for a Security Council session at UN

I believe that this war is more about the internal political legitmation of western elites and, critically social transformation to the benefit of big money. So on that basis, I wpuld argue that those Elites need escalation and will, axiomatically carry out strikes theough their Ukrainian proxy using any means and layload available to them, in order, precisely to try to maintain the Columbine order.

Comrade Napoleon's avatar

Correct. And this is why I strongly support GMs assertion that the western oligarchy in material support of the Ukrainian war effort should start feeling the pain. Mega yachts make juicy targets.

No; once the fear starts, the narcissists will no longer be so eager to step into these positions. A few deaths of prominent elites, and the conveyor belt will grind to a halt, precisely because they are amoral and just looking out for number one.

It doesn't have to be Elon right away. Luigi offed one relatively insignificant vampire, and look at the wave of fear that followed. Several more, this time done not by a lone vigilante but by what is clearly an operation, and these elites will go into paroxysms of panic. And the sheeple will see, and learn how few and how scared the vampires are.

Andy Francis's avatar

Why is this your concern? Fuck elon.

Honora Renwick's avatar

Not much support though we are in 5 Eyes so we'll do our little bit but I think Israel gets more support via our satellite launches and surveillance manufacturing. I for one am not thrilled with all this support making us a target. The only son of a highly esteemed couple in our city - the husband had previously been voted New Zealander of the Year for good deeds (establishing a charity hospital) - was killed using a vehicle as an ambulance in Ukraine. Their son would have done more good for the world in his day job as a geneticist. Of course being New Zealanders, there's virtually no degree of separation between us all!

Destroying even one deeply buried bunker will drastically change the vampires' conviction of unassailability. It might be the most effective way of preventing WW3.

James's avatar

I'm gradually coming around to the theory that all you guys must be some kind of info op because I just find it so hard to imagine that you really believe the snake oil you're selling. Russia should abandon the limited war that they're fighting now which they probably have at least a 90% chance of eventually winning convincingly. They should do this because the Western elites will never stop, have no limits, and are fighting for the total destruction of all opposition to their rule. Yet these supremely ruthless and amoral people will supposedly abandon that ambition and surrender if you, for example, sink a couple of super-yachts or kill Elon Musk. All out of nothing more than a pusillanimous fear for their own lives. When realistically the chance of the Russians getting any individual one of them once it became known that Russia was engaging in such a campaign would be close to zero after basic security precautions are taken. This is Russia's only chance of victory not an attempt by Ukrainian info warriors to find a way to achieve the only thing that can save Ukraine now - direct military participation by NATO. It's ridiculous. The only strategy that would be worth a damn if you actually believed the GM patented "The West will never stop until either Russia or they are finally defeated" schtick is an all-out surprise nuclear first strike.

abcdefg's avatar

That seems to be the case but the problem is the Europeans were (are) hiding behind the US coattails. Now the US has been given a black eye by Iran, a middle power with a 9 billion defence budget, their position becomes more and more untenable. Eventually the Russian will begin to push back in earnest. The question is will the Europeans continue to push or not. Things could spiral out of control quickly in so many different ways.

The greatest danger for humanity - nuclear weapons - is also a danger for the owners of the collective west.

It is much more reasonable 1. to destroy the Empire of Offshore Accounts and 2. to create a doxxing list of mega-billionaires to sort them out. Among the worst are Usurers (the City of London), war profiteers/war mongers (Arbuthnots et al., owners of major oil companies), supranational monstrosities BlackRock, State Street, & Vanguard, and the ever genocidal rabid zionists Karp, Ellisons, Ackman, Feinberg, et al.

The Kurgan's avatar

There are only two reasons why Putin would not have had such a list begin to have bodies dropping dead from it:

1. It’s all theatre and Putin is just playing a role designed to help the (((usual suspects))) decimate western caucasians, and/or,

2. There is an unwritten rule that since everyone can be killed by secret tech/special ops/etc, none of the players actually hets whacked otherwise everyone become fair game and we can’t have all the pedovores in charge killing each other!

Feral Finster's avatar

It is not a question of winning but of coming to power. In Germany there is an open discussion (look at "Lanz" from the public broadcaster) to let the people vote, but when the new parliament is formed, just block the parliament from choosing a new government. werner hillinger's avatar

Sadly, the answer to your question is they will escalate. The disconnect from reality is unbelievable. I have witnessed individuals interrupting a purely technical discussion, vocally accusing the technicians of being pawns of the enemy simply because the actual, purly physical, circumstances were uncomfortable.

RalfB's avatar

They will escalate anyway, using false flags. So let's give them a real flag, and claim it was false. Russia's rep will not be ruined any more than it already is, but the elites of the West will suddenly start wearing brown pants. A new fashion---it used to be shirts.

werner hillinger's avatar

Russia's reputation is not so bad, only in the Western/Middle European countries. In Slovakia or Serbia, a Westerner has to be careful if he wants to propagate the EU lies, the same in Bulgaria. Forget about Latvia -- everything east of Brussels has been lined up already in the pipeline as a proxy. Germany being the big one.

And the bozos in the Kremlin are just sitting and watching passively as the preparations are ongoing.

The big item will be providing the proxies with "independent" nuclear deterrent so that the Kremlin cannot wipe them out.

Then the war is lost for good and Russia is finished, because it will be bogged down in an interminable conventional war against a force several times its size.

The only hope then is direct and open Chinese intervention, which will not happen, the Chinese will simply secure their northern flank by directly taking it instead of fighting the West.

The next proxy is Poland. The master vampires seem to think that it will have similar lasting power to Ukraine, and are already arming Poland and purging its elites. I think they are wrong, and the Polish army will fall on its face, not because it has poor soldiers, but because it has incompetent leadership at every level. But at least this is a possibility, unlike the farce of using the Chihuahuas. These will just serve as the entrée, to give Poland a ramp.

It's really about vengeance, pure and simple.

Russia committed two unpardonable acts; it firstly, backed the Arabs against the jews at the beginning of the '67 Arab-Israeli war; and it then decapitated the jewish oligarchs in Russia.

For all that they disavow any suggestion that they share commonality with NS Germany; this is exactly why Germany was organized against too - they had the temerity to throw the jews out of Germany, and the jews have a long memory, and still remember how the Amalekites attacked them as they came out of Egypt in 1450BC; and have sworn to exterminate all Amalekites - who effectively, is anybody who isn't jewish.

Don't forget the crown jewel; Russian entanglement in Syria.

I think the main, overriding reason for the ukraine conflict was as an "attempt" at tying Russia's hands behind its back to prevent it from directly interfering in jew expansionism in the middle east. All of the other stated objectives start to drift increasingly out of focus the more I look at this thing in terms of large scale geopol. Goals of overthrowing putin, balkanizing Russia, "defeating" Russia, etc seem like complete non-starters. The actual goal looks more like a temporary set of handcuffs, and of course to keep the money laundromat, human trafficking, and organ/fetus/blood farming going as ancillary byproducts.

For me the proof of your thesis is that the seemingly total destruction of Ukraine is an afterthought. It's a tragedy that millions have been killed and many millions displaced and/or their lives ruined as a sacrifice to the greed of these western elites. This country was groomed and brainwashed into Russophobia armed and trained and then sent out to ruin Russia like some rabid attack dog in the interests of these elites.

Tim's avatar

I have a subscription to the Telegraph in the UK - the comments section is invariably awash with Russophobia, which seems to be the default position of the readership, although one or two stand against it.

The level of brainwashing is a sight to see.

The Phoenix's avatar

The CIA is OBVIOUSLY in on it. How else would Ukraine have necessary targeting and networking capability for this?

This is not a serious question simp.

Hence, there is only one proper counter warning from Russia to the West: if you don’t restrain your proxy none of your nationals in Ukraine will be “safe”.

Elena Newton's avatar

It should warn them that none of their nationals anywhere will be safe. Putin should "take the bait" offered and call the western bluff.

RalfB's avatar

They are just gonna make a false flag and blame Russia for it. Let's give them a real flag. The blame cannot be any worse. And the fear will start, in earnest this time---the illusion of untouchability blown like a bubble.

ScipioAfricanus's avatar

Yes. The Europeans are so brazen since they know Putler wont do anything. GM was right and even Simplicus acknowledges it, he just simply hand waves it away tho

Xavier Narutowicz's avatar

I prefer a calm, rational Putin, the only such leader except for China.

Elena Newton's avatar

I don't mean this sarcastically, but it's easier to prefer a calm, rational Putin when you're not one of the 400 Russian citizens a week (a month?) being killed by western munitions, one of the military being subjected to constant attacks from the same source, or even one of the Ukrainians dying in industrial quantities in an apparently endless war foisted upon them by a foreign government.

The people who really prefer what Putin is doing are the oligarchs, still traveling and sending their children west, still trading with westerners, still sending the oil that is building the weapons killing ordinary Russians.

Xavier Narutowicz's avatar

Putin was forced to defend Russia. I do not know what his limited objectives were in the beginning.

War progresses, the West escalated. The present Putin policy has destroyed Ukraine. Still the West persists. I do not know where the escalation will go. The next step Russia is forced into could be drastic, war with NATO. Millions could be killed, hundreds of millions, maybe, everything destroyed.

There is much to be considered, calm and rational is what is needed.

The US and the West is at the point of collapse; the leaders and oligarchs are crazy psychopaths.

Elena Newton's avatar

"The next step Russia is forced into could be drastic, war with NATO. Millions could be killed, hundreds of millions, maybe, everything destroyed.

....

The US and the West is at the point of collapse; the leaders and oligarchs are crazy psychopaths."

If the west wanted "war," in the bizarre way people seem to be accepting for no real, good reason, there would already be war. Of course, there already IS war, the west is killing Russians with direct strikes; it's seizing ships at high sea, waging an assassination campaign, and all the rest. It isn't "war" because Russia is not striking back, that's all, and there is absolutely no reason to think this will end well. Putin is empowering his enemies in the west, and they grow ever bolder. No reason to think they'll stop.

Unless they're MADE to stop, and this is where I disagree with your second and third contentions, namely that the west is at the point of collapse and the leaders are crazy psychopaths. I don't disagree that they're psychopaths, but I think it's the way you mean it.

The alt media love to claim the west is at the point of collapse. They've been claiming that for four years now. It is false, and it has been false for the past four years. We hear there's no productivity - well, the drones keep raining down in ever-increasing numbers, and Trump is feeling so damn good he goes out and starts another war. There are things that could cause trouble, namely the complete elimination of democracy and the vast shift of wealth to the ultra-wealthy, a stock bubble, etc., but no indication those cows are coming home soon. And other countries are joining the west, not the east. Armenia today, just for one example, but there are many others.

As for crazy psychopaths, well, they're psycho, but what they are doing is working. Putin is too intimidated to fight back, so the idea that only Putin's restraint is preventing nuclear war is obviously wrong. There's no real indication the west would go there if Russia fought back, and there's actually a pretty good indication it would not, considering what has happened in Iran. West Asia is at least as important geopolitically as Europe, probably much more so, and the US has hardly stirred to protect its friends there. Not likely it would protect Europe any more than that, and the European forces are currently lame. If Russia took Iran's approach this war would probably be over in a week. A lot fewer people would die, but a bunch of oligarchs would find themselves, perhaps, frozen out of what they love to do: sell stuff to the west and hang out at the Riviera.

Xavier Narutowicz's avatar

werner hillinger's avatar

Maybe someone can explain me, why the CIA is needed. An airport or refinery will not move, the operators know where it is. After the attack, send a spy (most Ukrainians speak Russian) and observe the damage. If the operators want to know, where the AA is, just send a bunch of drones/cruise missiles on different courses, with slithly different ETAs. And then wait, what the spy on the ground reports back.

Gnuneo's avatar

Russian AD is solid. So the attack will also have locally-launched drones and manpads, inside Russia - therefore CIA will be involved. Plus targeting data, and passenger lists, and opsec.

Anyway, this is the shit that western Agents adore, having turned themselves into a Bond archetype.

the Leipzig airport 'attack' happened almost a month ago (4/5 aug.) and involved two 'incidents' rather than an 'attack': "...The first incident involved a drone carrying explosives, which was found on airport grounds near a Ukrainian cargo aircraft [...] The second incident occurred as a Boeing 757-23N (SF) went around, due to the closure of the airport, after a landing attempt and collided with a second drone..." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Leipzig_Airport_drone_incidents Leipzig could've been a false flag (whose drones? still not clear). Why wait more than 3 weeks to get Ratcliffe over to Moskow, followed by Z. uttering these theats? Next question would be: "will Kiev be able to fulfill its threat and launch continuous drone attacks on multiple Russian airports at once? [...] Zelensky's statement may frighten foreign air carriers and they will stop flights to Russia. It's not a fact, but it's theoretically possible..." - https://news-pravda.com/ukraine/2026/09/01/2558480.html

werner hillinger's avatar

The story is still under development. A third abandoned drone was found with some "military grade" explosives; at least the authorities present this story. And a few days ago, there was an attack at a transformer center, with rockets (reports range from sophisticated to DIY firework-grade). The situation described is not unique to Germany. This winter some districts of Berlin had no power for a few days because Antifa destroyed an important electrical hub in a terror attack. The year before, Antifa destroyed a power line to cut off the Tesla factory. Before this, there were attacks at other power facilities in Munich. The target was an MIC company. The German train system frequently has to be halted due to Antifa's successful attacks on the power and data lines of the Bundesbahn. And a very important power line in Italy, close to the border of Austria, was attacked; the target was a pump station for oil, supplying Southern Germany (and Austria). For most of this and some minor terror acts, various Antifa groups proudly present themselves as the successful terrorists. The German Antifa is part of the far-left NGO complex, which is funded by the government. Of course, police show a very lame and limited will to investigate.

mary-lou's avatar

To me, as an Austrian, the absolut strangest thing is the web-presence "indymedia" is still up and running. Some years ago, a German higher court decided to shut it down, but nothing happens. You can easily access this homepage and read what they do, what they plan (of course uninterrupted), how to talk to the police in case they catch you, which NGO offers help in case of trouble, where to find comrades for some action - or handwork as they call the attack on people with hammers and baseball bats because they identify them as Nazi.

I do not think so. She is looking good, and she has a feeling about what to tell us via the media. When it comes to real knowledge, look at her man, Oskar Lafontaine. Even though we are miles apart, I helped him with a campaign in Saarland, somewhere around 2010. He is extremely well-educated, he can be very charming, he knows about perfect wine and food. Sadly, due to age, his health conditions are far from perfect.

RalfB's avatar

Perhaps you are right; my opinion on this is not very strongly held, I am just triangulating from official positions.

Det's avatar

Oskar may be charming and principled, but he was and remains a rather poor political strategist. Is there an inability of European general populations, especially Germans, to connect dots as regards making sense of incidents?

A couple of armed drones, one carefully (conspicuously) placed next to a Ukrainian mega-cargo plane and another somewhere on airport property, almost immediately leads to a conclusion that the Russians did it and it's cause for preparation for war.

Four years ago NS1 and 2 were blown up just weeks after Olaf Scholz stood next to Pres. Biden at a press conference as Biden, in response to two questions from a reporter, twice stated that "we will end" the pipelines (after a year of effort to prevent the pipeline completion and operation). For more than two years after that the Germans played dumb saying that they didn't know who did it while Scandinavians who examined the destruction sat on the evidence with zipped lips. Did Germany protest? No.

Then, someone cooked up the largely debunked Ukraine connection while the obvious likely culprit (exposed by Seymour Hersh), who was never even remotely considered, whistles Dixie across the pond.

The point; the West is living a Warped, Corrupt and Treacherous Narrative that leads to ever more twisted conclusions the sheeple are challenged to believe (or else!). How, and when will this shameful charade end??

Hans Kloss's avatar

I suppose German authorities either cooperated in preparation or started cooperation after the drone was found.

Feral Finster's avatar

It worked. Good luck getting any justice, and if you ask any european, they will tell you that Russia did it and the court proved it.

Danilo Mejia's avatar

Russia is no longer looking for a negotiated compromise with Ukraine. Its position increasingly appears to be that Ukraine must accept Russian terms after being defeated on the battlefield. In that sense, what lies ahead may not be a traditional peace negotiation, but negotiations over the terms of Ukraine’s surrender. The longer the West continues to escalate without changing the fundamental balance of the war, the more severe those terms could become.

Danilo Mejia's avatar

The real question now is how long Ukraine can continue fighting and how long the United States can sustain military assistance at the necessary scale. Ukraine is facing growing pressure on manpower, ammunition, and resources, while Russia continues its military pressure.

At the same time, U.S. weapons stocks and production capacity are under strain. The war with Iran adds another major burden, consuming American weapons, air-defense interceptors, military resources, money, and strategic attention that could otherwise support Ukraine.

>Russia is no longer looking for a negotiated compromise with Ukraine.

That is directly contradicted by Putin himself just last night -- he said that they have not and will not do decapitation in Ukraine because they need someone to negotiate with.

Which also puts a big fat red X on the whole "denazification" objective, because if you are going to negotiate with these people that automatically implies you are not going to remove them from power.

Yoni Reinón's avatar

you can sure make it better

TJE's avatar

yeah i mean that's a poker tell that will make the other guy push more chips in

bc everything they said previously was "this will be solved on the battlefield"

i do hope that this negotiated settlement sees Putin cast into exile

Charles Langlois's avatar

The Russians sure missed a trick when they failed to get you to run for their president. Why, if you had been voted in, the war could have been over in 24 hours.

TJE's avatar

I would not have sat there merely prattling about red lines

threats that don't get backed up merely embolden your adversaries

Tony Leibbrandt's avatar

"...everything they said previously was "this will be solved on the battlefield""

Hardly. For over four years (12 years if we go back to the Maidan, 70 years in reference to Nato and the West in general) Russia has done everything in its power to resolve matters through negotiation and it is only in the last couple of months that they have reluctantly concluded that the battlefield is going to be the only way to solve this.

So, no, not "everything they said previously", not even close.

That said, they have always insisted that they will be open to genuine dialogue and negotiation - "genuine" being the operative word, seemingly a not widely, if at all, understood concept and caveat in "the West".

TJE's avatar

jfc what a historical whitewash...you call invading hungary trying to settle things with negotiation?

GTFOH

they have LITERALLY SAID that they WILL NOT negotiate with Jelensky bc he is NOT the legitimate leader of the country! THEIR WORDS

Tony Leibbrandt's avatar

Huh? Hungary was not in NATO or "the West"in 1956!

The fact Russia will not negotiate with the constitutionally illegitimate leader of Ukraine does not, in any way, support your palpably erroneous contention that , "everything they said previously was "this will be solved on the battlefield." That assertion is wrong, period.

TJE's avatar

you JUST SAID that for 70 years Russia has tried to resolve matters through negotiation....which was utter bullshit

Russia's been saying for years they're winning on the battlefield thus they will not negotiate which is entirely consistent with what i just fucking claimed! Lavrov said back in 2023, let's solve it on the battlefield- at the gd UN!

Look man, either you cut the bullshit or you need to go tf away. I will not tolerate this mendacity

ScipioAfricanus's avatar

Why do they need to negotiate with someone? Ukraine does not have any similar qualm. In addition, what stops them from decapitating Ukraine then announcing some random Taras as "President" and negotiating with him? It doesnt matter if the people accept him, they will in time. The Russian oligarchy has a particular and a general problem with decisive action.

In particular, they don't want Ukraine. Taking the Donbass is good because there is wealth to be looted there. They probably wouldn't mind having Krivoy Rog and Odessa, for similar reasons. But the rest would be a huge burden -- there is nothing analogous there while it would have to be rebuilt to Russian standards (and the more Kh-101s fly into Soviet infrastructure, the more that bill grows). Who would have to pay for it? Well, ordinary Russians have been sucked dry by 35 years of vicious neoliberalism, so it would have to be the oligarchy. It already is in the Donbass -- they were forced to sponsor various projects, but that is on a relatively small scale and they envision a return on investment eventually. For the whole of Ukraine we're talking at least a trillion, money that would be much better spent on megayachts and private jets instead.

In general, decisive action means severing all ties with the West. But that destroys the power base of the Russian oligarchy, which is precisely the connection with the West.

Also, the Russian oligarchy sees itself as continuous with the Ukrainian oligarchy. Remember the leaked Sobchak chats with Yermak? Well, that leaked so we know about it. What it shows is that communications between the elites did not cease after the war started. But there is obviously a lot that hasn't leaked, that was just one tiny bit.

So what happens if the Kremlin starts physically taking out the Ukrainian oligarchy? It sets a precedent that is then just one step away from doing the same internally. For which there is historic precedent in Russia in a way that there isn't in Western Europe -- there, they have history of the economic oligarchy chopping off the king's head (both main imperialistic countries in Europe got their start to world dominance that way, and so did the US in a way even though they could not physically get their hands on the king because of distance) but never the inverse on a large scale. In Russia they have Ivan the Terrible who chopped off a lot of boyar heads and then Stalin, who did the same while repeating that Ivan the Terrible's big mistake was that he did not chop enough boyars' heads off. And those bastards are the two most reversed rulers in Russian history. Understandably, there is no bigger fear in the minds of the Russian oligarchs because the crimes of the current crop are incomparably worse than what Ivan the Terrible and Stalin were chopping heads off for.

P.S. The most fucked up aspect of the situation is that Putin has the power to cut the knot -- once he crosses the Rubicon and takes those actions that would destroy the Russian oligarchy, then the Russian oligarchy would be destroyed and presumably not have the power to veto taking those actions the way it does now. But he doesn't do it....

Tim's avatar

I don't think Russia's terms today will be any different from what they were yesterday - although I agree that a lot more territory will be lost by Ukraine than would have been the case had they accept the Minsk and Istanbul accords.

But war crimes trials are definitely in order.

Opport Knocks's avatar

Any future negotiated settlement will contain a clause forgoing war crimes prosecutions by both sides. A surrender and capture could lead to trials though.

Tim's avatar

The Ukrainian side is agreement-incapable, because it's actually US / jewry that is simply using Ukraine as its puppet.

They already had a perfect settlement, and then the blonde bomshell came along.

So it looks like Unconditional Surrender + War Crimes Trials to me.

I can't wait to see them all in the dock in the Moscow District Court.

As for the US not going well, well, that's beyond the rumor stage. I assume that's what you meant, but I'm more concerned with Argentina.

JohnOnKaui's avatar

I was asking about Argentina and Thiel. I wish you luck in keeping him out. I don't know why he thinks he has to leave the USA though. But the different oligarchy factions make and break alliances easily. I'm sure there is at least one faction working on Trump's assassination. Whether or not it will be able to recruit other factions (because it can't do it alone) is not known at the moment.

Montefrío the Curious's avatar

Glad to hear it! Argentina is not on many people's radar. Thanks for the wish, but he's here until further notice. Were Milei & Co. to get the boot either by impeachment and trial or by way of the polling stations, it's hard to imagine Mr. T would find the welcome mat still there and would likely decamp, ojalá. Argentina is not an apt location for finance capitalism, as more and more of its citizens are increasingly aware. Milei was at first entertaining and the Kirchner crew had to go, but many now believe Milei has gone too far in a number of ways, favoring the exploiters over the exploited, thus the presence of Peter Thiel.

Beyond the obvious of Putler being in the hands of Oligarchs, the only other explanation is he is convinced and scared of NATO confrontation. I am personally not certain that NATO (ala the US) will respond under Trump. The window for action continues to close.

Btw did you know the Chechen war(s) happened because Chechen gangs refused to share with Moscow and Berezovsky was behind a big part of the war? Perhaps there is something similar going on here. That would explain the embarassement of the Russian side

GM's avatar

There was another reason why the Chechens were dealt with decisively -- Putin had to establish himself in power.

Which is one good move for the Russian patriots now is to take out Putin. The next guy would be under similar pressure to act harshly, even if he is a closted liberal.

Correct. Putin will not fall into the trap of provocations. He will simply raise the pain inside Ukraine to the point where:

1) the population will throw Zelensky and company into prison and vote a new parliament

2) or declare war on Ukraine and finish the entire country (no proxy, no war with Nato).

Feral Finster's avatar

I keep asking this question for three years now -- what is the difference between Russia and Syria/Yugoslavia/Libya/etc.?

The West bombed those places and did not get bombed in return at all. Until they were destroyed.

The West is bombing Russia now and there is similarly no response. What will the outcome be?

Anna's avatar

You do not have a viable solution to this problem.

Russians will not do carpet bombing of Europe.

Russians will not initiate a nuclear exchange.

China, Russia, and Iran do their best to save humanity from the genocidal collective west armed with judaic mentality.

Meanwhile, the US Republic is no more, kaput. Instead, there is a US bordello of congress adorned by aipac-supported idiots like zionist Randy Fine (adored by Florida jews). The EU is under an internal stress that could, eventually, tear apart the Brussels' fascist network.

Perhaps, you need to ponder on your own question "what is the difference between Russia and Syria/Yugoslavia/Libya/etc.?" to have a better understanding of the times of troubles we all live in...

TJE's avatar

Anna's avatar

Where exactly do you see the surrender? - do names of Odessa and Kiev ring anything for you?

The EU has been squeezed dry by usurers/ war profiteers who can’t survive without constant infusion of massive loot. Why should Russia prevent the squeezing?

How many Ukrainians are eager to defend the Kievan junta on the frontline? The decrepit Kellogg demands female battalions. How many European citizens can’t wait to march to the eastern front?

It was for a reason that Kaja Kallas was called an idiot by a fellow European citizen.

TJE's avatar

why do you keep bringing up Ukranus as if that has anything to do with the EU...

why do you people continue to INSIST that Ukranus is what matters here and that defeat of Ukranus = defeat of the EU? The EU can simply go select ANOTHER PROXY and repeat this ad infinitum!

It doesn't fucking matter how many gd EU citizens will or wont do anything - if Russia DOES NOT strike the EU, then they can continue to act with impunity!

Do you NOT GRASP THIS? The EU is striking Russia DAILY using a proxy...Russia does not strike back.

RalfB's avatar

There is a viable solution that does not involve carpet bombing. I named it in my comment above---the spectacular destruction of a single deep bunker, one of those the master vampires built as their personal hideouts. That is it, this one gesture will suddenly stop nuclear escalation cold.

Feral Finster's avatar

That would require a decisiveness, audacity and resolution that the Russian leadership entirely lacks.

The bear is a female...no balls at all.

Russia could have given Iran R37Ms to hit tankers. Lord knows JUSA has given Ukranus stuff to hit Russian assets...a lot bigger than a tanker. The TERCON necessary to get FP5s to the Soyuz2 plant came from the JUSA as has the guidance data for every other one of these strikes with this weapon. The AD mapping ISR came from the JUSA as well.

But Russia did fuckall bc Putin is desperate and weak and high on the Spirit of Anchorage. That's all their leadership could talk about...it sounded like fucking whining, tbh. It was pathetic. And so they are being treated like the Jane in a gangbang. That's what you get when ur a bitch, i'm afraid.

There is a simple recipe to avert a nuclear war.

Hit and destroy one of the real deep bunkers, just one, with a tactical nuke Oreshnik. This, and only this, will make the master vampires realize they cannot ride out the Armageddon in comfort and safety. And it will immediately put a damper on their escalatory itch.

Opport Knocks's avatar

US war against Iran has stopped the Americans from waging a larger war within the region with significantly less Iranian deaths. from June 2025-June 2026 estimate of 2,000 Iranians, and 1000+ Israelis KIA, 1500+ US KIA with 2-5k injured. $1.5 Trillion lost, wasted on the war.

TJE's avatar

no, Putin has been a relatively prudent economic steward

he's just a horrible wartime leader. He has appeased EVERY SINGLE escalation from the West. All of them.

Does it not dawn on you people the significance of what's happened? Prior to this war, the west would have NEVER DREAMED it could launch long range deep strikes into Russia at its CORE strategic military assets and facilities. They have found out that they CAN and Russia will do NOTHING ABOUT IT.

Even if this war ends, THAT SINGLE FACT will not change....Putin's serial appeasement of the west threatens Russia's very SURVIVAL in the long term.

GM's avatar

>he's just a horrible wartime leader

Not just that.

Much of the current catastrophe derives from decisions made in peacetime.

ScipioAfricanus's avatar

Much of the current catastrophe is derived from decades of kremlin pro-western policy, calling the west their "partners" (if you noticed the West never did that vis a vis Russia), trying to make Russians cosmopolitan and have no patriotism (which is why so much of the youth is so pro-west having grown up on western products and platforms. The genesis of the current conflict goes to the Belozheva accords (which themselves were illegal as they did not follow Soviet law - Gorbachev could have had the signatories arrested for treason and the "accords" nullified as not lawful. He did not. Now we have the current problem)

Opport Knocks's avatar

"partners"... like the Brits, Russians excel at sarcasm. Americans tend to be too literal.

"Sarcasm and irony are widely considered defining traits of Russian humor and communication. Cultural analyses and native speakers describe sarcasm as being "in the soul" of Russian culture, often serving as a coping mechanism for hardship and a tool for social bonding."

ScipioAfricanus's avatar

I wish it were sarcasm. It was in fact how they viewed the world

GM's avatar

>Even if this war ends, THAT SINGLE FACT will not change....

These two actions can change that:

1) Nuclear strikes against some NATO countries for their total annihilation (followed by immediate physical occupation and annexation of the territory), so that every other country in the world immediately kicks the US out and nobody ever dares volunteer again to be a lauch platform against Russia.

2) Direct physical expulsion of the US with nuclear strikes on all US bases and physical denial of all US presence in the eastern hemisphere in perpetuity after that, i.e. all ships get sunk the moment they cross the mid-Atlantic/mid-Pacific.

Zero chance of any of that happening with these people in charge.

TJE's avatar

so 1 and 2 lead to MAD. they're a nonstarter.

Russia needs to make examples of the hangers on, like the UK. Perhaps France, perhaps Germany....France is considerably more pragmatic and will see the light very clearly when the UK is smacked in the face. Germany would turn 180 if UK got smacked. They're the loudest chihuahua by far.

No physical occupation can occur...it's not possible.

Again, I would have Oreshnik'd the UK's SSBN pen...I think that's a particularly good target. If the West wants to proceed to nuclear war, well....it was going there anyway. Russia cannot continue to absorb the types of strikes it's taking.

Their ability to, for example, send a satellite up can be eliminated entirely- China won't do shit for them if they show themselves to be too weak. At the point where nations appear that weak, they get abandoned and the JUSA is free to wage economic war at will. Sanctions policy against Russia, the very economic well-being of Russia is *directly* impacted by Putin's cowardice in this conflict.

Right now, IRAN is doing more to solve the Ukranus war due to diesel crack spreads than is anyone else in Russia's favor. Xi made a significant statement today about this. The west is steering everything toward chaos and again, not to beat the horse, but this is a juish thing.

Comrade Napoleon's avatar

"well....it was going there anyway"

Bingo!

ScipioAfricanus's avatar

No they do not. See Iran. Iran struck US bases, killed US servicemen and destroyed US ships. Nothing happened. The US is currently wary of putting boots on the ground as that would tarnish Trumps legacy. Unlikely he would put boots on the ground against Russia. He would probably limit any action to air strikes on Russia, but we see how well that is going in Iran (only coastal strikes, deeper strikes are high risk due to pervasive air defense and do not occur as a result). In addition, the munition situation in the US is already difficult and keeping an aireal campaign going against Russia may alreeady strain thin resources.

TJE's avatar

dude....he said "nuclear strikes"...Iran did not do nuclear strikes.

nuclear strikes lead to nuclear strikes which leads to MAD

RalfB's avatar

Both are provocative overkill, while being totally ineffective; why? Because they are just harming the goyim cattle. A much smaller strike, but targeting the actual master vampires, the higher the better, will have a much stronger deterrent effect. Let them feel their vulnerability.

ScipioAfricanus's avatar

2) is basically what Iran did in the gulf. There were no reactions from the US. The US is currently weary of putting boots on the ground and cannot strike facilities deeper within Iran due to pervasive air defense. One would assume that a similar situation would occur in Europe. Dunno why Putler is so afraid of NATO when we have Irans example to go by

Peter Williamson's avatar

Robert's avatar

> Prior to this war, the west would have NEVER DREAMED it could launch long range deep strikes into Russia

Depends how far back you go. They would have never attacked while the USSR existed. 1990s - they stopped fearing Russia, and the eastwards march of NATO began, with Boris Yeltsin drinking his sorrows. War wasn't necessary to defeat Russia - the sanctions and end of SWIFT was supposed to cause financial destruction leading to the break up of Russia.

The West is only beginning to relearn it's fear of Russia.

GM's avatar

How does that matter and to who?

What matters is who is getting bombed.

Because who is getting bombed and who is not getting bombed also determines who pays debts and who doesn't.

The US debt does not matter as long as nobody can bomb the US into submission to pay it back.

ThrowNat's avatar

Is there anything more to your worldview than bombs?

You're not even internally coherent in your own terms. It's the people who refuse to take on US debt that get bombed.

US debt will ABSOLUTELY matter as the world continues to move away from the economic stranglehold of the dollar, which it is doing at exponentially increasing velocities.

Bombs aren't going to mean jack shit when the entire planet correctly views the whole anglo-jew economy as a gigantic, groundless mafia ponzi scheme, and leaves the west to implode into it's own bullshit.

It's 18 days to Russian elections. If Zelensky advisors thought threat of more terrorism would drive Russian voters away from current leadership then they still have not learned a single thing about nation states like Russia, Iran or China. And as Simplicius mentioned that this kind of attack was already planned (and delayed due to its outright terrorist nature). That means Stavka would already have contingencies and response plans worked on. The involvement of CIA is 100% given since all terrorism of Kiev junta is coordinated via CIA or MI6 which is essentially the same thing !

Now we know why Russia went so slow - because they needed to recover, catch up in some critical areas and build up capabilities and capacity. Kiev and EU are in the meanwhile left with empty armouries and terrorism !

Angus Praiseworthy's avatar

Neither Russia nor China nor Iran are, strictly speaking, nation states. They are multiethnic states which makes them much more interesting and, I would argue, stable.
